Wingsuit Stuntman Soars Through China Mountains
Job Corliss was the original host of Discovery’s Stunt Junkies, until the show fired him after he attempted to BASE jump off the observation deck of the Empire State Building in April 2006.
The man just can’t resist airborne temptation, hosting duties be damned. He’s jumped from Paris’ Eiffel Tower, Seattle’s Space Needle, and the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In addition to BASE jumping, Corliss is also an accomplished wingsuit flier, which means his bucket list looks much, much different than yours. His latest feat? Jumping out of a helicopter more than a mile off the ground over Tianmen Shan (Heaven’s Gate Mountain) near Zhangjiajie, China and soaring through the naturally formed cave in the mountain. This is a thing of sheer beauty:
“That was one of the greatest wingsuit flights of my entire life,” Corliss said later. You really have to marvel at his use of “one of” in that sentence. After watching the video, what can possibly top that?
