The NFL draft used to involve a whole lot less pomp and circumstance, and unfortunately for Manti Te’o, it was a whole lot more difficult to get Catfished and possibly ruin your chances of being drafted back then too.

Redditor justbluemyself_ posted the telegraph his grandfather, Tom Chapman, received from revered Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi back in 1959, gauging his interest in playing for the team.

According to Pro Football Reference, Tom Chapman was drafted in the 12th round, 133rd overall, by the Chicago Cardinals back in the 1960 draft.
