Sorkin Supercut: Super Scribe Recycles His Own Dialogue On the heels of Jonah Lehrer’s self-plagiarism scandal and the highly anticipated debut of HBO’s “The Newsroom,” an editor named Kevin Porter cobbled together a whole slew of recycled material from Sorkin scripts that seem to repeat themselves seem to repeat themselves. Maybe you’ve noticed (the “proportional response” line from The West Wing and The American President was glaring), maybe you haven’t, but taken together this is pretty … interesting stuff. Maybe he repeats it because it’s such great dialogue? Ultimately: Who the eff cares? The clips: Malice, A Few Good Men, An American President, Bulworth, Sports Night, The West Wing, Studio 60, Charlie Wilson’s War, The Social Network and “Tom Hanks 1993 Oscar Speech for some reason.” Hey, at least this time, Sorkin’s ripping himself off, not having his words plagiarized by an Australian politician trying to be profound.
