Barack Obama Loves Betty White, Too While the five remaining Republicans were battling it out in South Carolina in front of what seemed like the studio audience of a Maury taping, President Obama showed up elsewhere on the airwaves. The Commander-in-Chief appeared on NBC’s Betty White Night tribute to wish a very happy birthday to the most adorable, ubiquitous 90-year-old woman in the nation. </noscript> Not content to just sit there like a schmuck, President Obama added a dose of comedy to the proceedings, penning a letter that included a birth certificate joke: “Dear Betty, You look so fantastic and full of energy, I can’t believe you’re 90 years old. In fact, I don’t believe it. That’s why I’m writing to ask if you will be willing to produce a copy of your long-form birth certificate. Thanks. Happy Birthday, no matter how old you are.” Andrew Sullivan left this off his reasons Obama’s accomplishments are getting the short shrift.
