He flies through the air with the greatest of ease … that is, until he completely wipes out. Three-time Olympic ski jump champion Thomas Morgenstern was practicing for this weekend’s Ski Flying World Cup, when he crashed … hard.

According to the Austria Press Agency, “Morgenstern lost his balance in the air, turned over to the left and landed on his back and head. He briefly lost consciousness but was able to speak shortly afterward.”

Watch how it went down:

The 27-year-old Austrian had a similar crash in December, but he recovered quickly. With the Winter Olympics just a few weeks away, he needs to keep his eye on the prize, go for the gold, etc., etc.
