A news crew in Rio de Janeiro was interviewing a woman about the high crime rate and lack of police when she was mugged by a dude trying to snatch a thin gold chain around her neck (cc: Alanis Morissette).
The criminal got away, but not with the chain — it broke as the mugger ran off. We could not find a reason why the interviewer who chased after said mugger decided to use the lady’s neck as leverage to push off from.
Things are looking rough as ever in Rio: “There were also 629 robberies on public transport just in August, while muggings soared by nearly 40 per cent as well,” the Daily Mail reports. No worries, it’s not like they’re hosting the next World Cup and the next Olympics or anything.
