Russian Volcano, Erupting Since November, Still Spewing Lava and Gas

Russia, the world’s leading exporter of WTF, has something even more mesmerizing to watch than its ubiquitous dash cam videos.

A once-dormant volcano is continuing to erupt in Russia’s Far East, sending plumes of gas and ash into the sky. The Plosky Tolbachik volcano started erupting in November after lying dormant for almost 40 years. It’s still going strong, and scientists are monitoring the active eruptions.
