Man versus Machine: British Olympic sprinter Adam Gemili faced off with a Johnny 5-like robot in a 100-meter race.

But why? The challenge came about after the pair disagreed on Twitter about who was the fastest runner. Okay, sure …

According to Kent Online, the robot, named BRIAN, beat Gemili by a mere fraction of a second.

“He’s quick,” Gemili quipped. Yes, it’s a robot. And how was the race even fair? The robot doesn’t have legs. It has wheels … mounted on a freakin’ track! To make this fair, have Gemili race against a robot with legs. Well, strike that, we don’t want it shooting its girlfriend or anything.

Great job, BRIAN!
