Don’t call them Burglar Kings.
Two hamburglars got into quite the pickle while trying to rob a Burger King near Sacramento. It seems they didn’t have it their way when one of the fast-food employees stole the very car they were trying to escape in.
The burger bandits walked into the Stockton restaurant this past weekend and immediately demanded money from the cashier. As they were collecting the money, one brazen employee spotted their idling getaway car in the parking lot. He snuck out the back and jumped into the car, driving around the block and hiding it.
After relishing the thought they would be able to escape free and clear, the suspects walked out of the restaurant and immediately panicked, knowing their plan was foiled.
“I haven’t heard of any employee actually leaving a business, getting inside the suspect vehicle and trying to hide it,” described Stockton officer Joe Silva to CBS Sacramento.
The two suspects, identified as Jeremy Lovit and Gabriel Gonzalez, then ran into a nearby field where Stockton Police were able to arrest them. Officers were able to return the stolen money to the store.
Talk about a whopper of a story!
