A new German supermarket, somewhat ironically named Priss, offered an interesting promotion to generate some Grand Opening buzz: The first 100 shoppers would receive up to 220 euros ($276) worth of groceries absolutely free. The catch? They’d have to go full monty to receive the full discount.

The new supermarket in Süderlügum, near the German-Danish border, attracted about 250 people who wished to get naked and stock up on foodstuffs and liquor. Police Oracle was there to document:

Police, photographers and a bemused supermaket manager Nils Sterndorff witnessed the strange scenes at the supermarket opening.

Customers wandered between the aisles studying shopping lists in nothing but their birthday suits.

Mr Sterndorff was overwhelmed by the success of his gimmick: “I never thought a hundred people would come, I thought maybe more like ten,” he said.

That reminds us: Shouldn’t some cable channel re-introduce a late-night version of “Supermarket Sweep” in which the contestants were hot and naked? Who wouldn’t watch that? Seriously.
