Obama & Jimmy Fallon Slow-Jam the News

President Obama appeared on Jimmy Fallon Tuesday night to discuss his plan to freeze student loans. But this wasn’t your everyday speech. It was a bit, well, groovier.

Now that’s how you get the youth vote. Student loans bringing you down, Millennials? Lemme help you. And while I’m at it, let me croon over a jazzy jam by the Roots.

“They say that keeping the interest rate low isn’t a way to help our students,” says the prez, while Fallon croons in the background. “They say that we should be doing everything we can to pay down the national debt — well, so long as it doesn’t includes taxing billionaires. But their position is that students just have to make that student-rate increase work. Frankly, I don’t buy it.”

Unfortunately, Bill Clinton didn’t jump out to solo on the sax.

In case you’re wondering how conservative media reacted to Obama’s performance, it was predictable:

Obama’s Jimmy Fallon Embarrassment!

“President Obama’s ‘celebrity status’ reached perplexing new levels last night on comedian Jimmy Fallon’s comedy show last night. After watching this sketch, I think it’s fair to say that he has ‘jumped the shark.’” — Fox News

Shameless Pander!

“If you thought President Bill Clinton’s MTV ‘boxers-or-briefs’ moment was mortifying, you’ll need an airsickness bag after watching Jimmy Fallon play the Obama=cool card with the UNC yoots by enlisting the commander-in-chief to … slow jam the news.” — Michelle Malkin
