Not Safe for Life: This Is the Most Insane Piercing You’ll Ever See

If you thought pierced tongues were extreme, this is going to scramble your brainmeats. A guy named Daniel lovesmilk rutt sent BME Zine a few pics of this torpedo-sized stretched piercing between his Achilles tendon and his ankle:

As you can imagine, it’s about as risky as cutting your own head off. According to BME’s body-mod-encyclopedia wiki, the Achilles piercing is “extremely rare, it is real, and healed examples do exist” — although “healed” is not the word we’d use to describe this — warning that the piercing is basically a love letter to tendonitis and can prevent you from ever walking again.

Even body-mod fanzine BME warns against it, saying, “Don’t do this. It’s incredibly dangerous and possibly crippling. The risks involved are astronomical, and can easily result in any number of serious and permanent injuries if attempted.”

The wiki article cites the example of a performer who suspended himself from his tendon as a spin on the more, um, traditional foot crucifixion suspension. This is, as you might have guessed, people stabbing themselves through their feet and hanging from them.
