Anyone Have $5 Million They Can Donate to Sandy Clean-up & Rescue? Veronica De Souza/@HeyVeronica UPDATE: Trump’s response here. Superstorm Sandy has left a good chunk of New York City and its surrounding areas powerless, in every sense of that word. At least 12 people are dead. A Con Ed power station exploded. Hospitals were evacuated when backup generators failed. A goddamn crane is dangling precariously from the top of a 75-story apartment tower. The sea level rose above 13 feet, water gushing into the subway and the PATH train and the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel. A fire inexplicably tore through Queens, destroying at least 50 homes. Sandy did not disappoint. • WATCH THIS TOO: Apocalyptic Video Captures Moment When Flooded NYC Intersection Loses Power In times like this, we can use a benefactor. Hey, here’s an idea … .@realdonaldtrump Hey dude, I hear you have $5 million you could donate to New Yorkers in need tonight? #sandy — Kate Spencer (@katespencer) October 30, 2012 Brilliant idea, Kate Spencer. Follow Us Trump smiled for the camera not one week ago and bragged about how willing he was to write a check to charity if President Obama released his college transcripts and passport applications. Surely this clean-up and rescue effort is much more an important than an election, than transcripts, right? UPDATE: Nope. Trump is still an asshole. ♫ THE HURRICANE ♫ • Wild Video: Con Edison Power Station Explodes • Watch Water Flood Into NYC’s Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel • Jet Skier Rips Waves in N.Y.
