Jeremy Lin did it again.

The former Harvard University point guard turned in his fourth straight majestic where-did-this-guy-come-from performance on Friday night, scoring 38 points and dishing out 7 assists to lead the New York Knicks to a 92-85 victory over Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers. Stop. The. Linsanity.

A feel-good night at MSG, however, may make for a bad weekend for Fox Sports’ Jason Whitlock, who threw down his best Asian stereotyping on Twitter in the aftermath of Friday’s game.

Yikes. It’s not so much that it’s racist, which it is. He should be fired for not being funny.

The thing about being funny in a public forum is that you are broadcasting it to the world. A tweet like that may seem perfectly fine amongst close friends since they know your real intentions, but in a public forum, especially when you have so many followers, it is completely inappropriate. Certain people are really good at treading the line between being funny and offensive (standup comedians, comedy show writers, etc.), but if you are not, or if you are unsure, please, just err on the side of safety.
