Denim Magnate Glenn Beck: If Obama Wins, ‘We Have To Be Destroyed’ Last we heard from Glennia Vanderbilt Glenn Beck, the gold-hoarding conspiracy peddler had just launched his own line of American-made jeans, which at $129.99 put the crazy back in crazy-expensive. Back behind the mic, it seems the Fox-dropped zealot is still doing what he does best: scaring the ever-living shit out of his flock with Biblical messages of fire and brimstone. Beck on Monday said that if the American people are “so dead inside that they can no longer see the difference between good and evil” — aka re-electing a demagogue like President Obama — then “we have to be destroyed because we will be a remarkable evil on this planet.” Follow Us Why would we look at all history through a Biblical world view?! Here’s the transcript, via Right Wing Watch: If you look at history through a biblical world view, the last step before a nation is completely destroyed is they drive the righteous from among them. If this isn’t a sign of a group of people that will drive the righteous from among them, and that’s the last step before God’s wrath comes, I fear for our country and it is – it cannot be overstated, it cannot be called paranoid … If you are a God‑fearing person, hear me. Last call, America. Last call. Because the righteous will be driven from among them. They are nasty, divisive and, I’m sorry, but there is no way to describe that quote from Valerie Jarrett other than evil. Warning: Saul Alinsky is just the beginning of these people. But I believe in the American people. I believe that we are not too far gone. I believe that people can watch and see the difference. They can feel the difference. When you watch Barack Obama, you can just see he is angry. When you watch Mitt Romney, you can see he is not. We are not an angry nation. We don’t listen to demagogues like that. It doesn’t work. No matter how much power he has amassed, no matter how many friends in the media he has, Americans know. And if they reject it this time, if they’re so dead inside – that’s a possibility – if they’re so dead inside that they can no longer see the difference between good and evil, we have to be destroyed because we will be a remarkable evil on this planet. Do you think Beck actually believes this stuff? Or is genius enough to realize that all he had to do was pretend like he believes it in order to embed himself in a slice of Americana that does who will make him fabulously wealthy? bobby1080 06.11.12 @ 3:44 pm I can’t believe anyone is even giving Beck hype. I was hoping that when Fox booted him out, that would be it, but alas, GB is back in the headlines. Does it matter what he says at this point? Although one of my favorite news stories of the year was an HV post about Beck’s jeans haha Gracious!
Drew Reichart 06.11.12 @ 6:32 pm A good president wouldn’t have FLOODED Mexico with AK-47′s or abandonded the 4 men in Libya. Obama is the lowest of the low.
Joe6898 07.11.12 @ 5:10 am Hmm… I wonder if he’ll be proven right. Certainly, we’ve got to try to recover as a nation, economically and more important, morally. I’ve heard of Christians being discriminated against simply for considering homosexual acts wrong. Perhaps they the next step would be to drive them away. I think most liberals wouldn’t discriminate. But hmm… I wish he’d give some arguments and not assume people will automatically agree.
Glaser 07.11.12 @ 9:28 am Mr. Beck is correct, but his comments were misdirected. It is the Republican Party or, more specifically, the right wing fringe of the Party that has driven the righteous from its ranks. See: Richard Lugar, Olympia Snowe, Mitt Romney circa 2004. Driving these moderate, sane voices from within their ranks has led to an epic downfall for a once great party. Lincoln would be sad. Look in the mirror, Beck, you’re the evil you’re looking for.
Luluteach 07.11.12 @ 5:20 pm Thank you to all the Republican whack jobs like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Carl Rove–you helped re-elect Obama with your elitist, judgemental, egotistical, uncompromising & self-serving view of the citizens of this country.
