For anyone who thinks more guns — not less — would have saved the lives of a mother, 20 schoolchildren and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, and there are many, fictional Bartlet administration press secretary C.J. Cregg has a brief, simple message:
And if you counter that with cries of “But, but, that’s a fictional show!,” consider the fact that President Ronald Reagan had his “best-trained armed guards in the world” bested and took a bullet in 1981. Did he dig his heels in? No, he then went on to advocate for gun control in the New York Times:
Every year, an average of 9,200 Americans are murdered by handguns, according to Department of Justice statistics. This does not include suicides or the tens of thousands of robberies, rapes and assaults committed with handguns.
This level of violence must be stopped. Sarah and Jim Brady are working hard to do that, and I say more power to them. If the passage of the Brady bill were to result in a reduction of only 10 or 15 percent of those numbers (and it could be a good deal greater), it would be well worth making it the law of the land.
WHY DOES RINO REAGAN WANT TO TAKE AWAY YOUR GUNS?
