An 11-Year-Old Was Shot When His Friend’s Birthday Party Ran Out of Beer There are so many things wrong with this. Who the hell brings alcohol to a child’s birthday party? Hold up, who the hell brings guns to a child’s birthday party? And this one wasn’t even inspired by Project X. A brawl erupted at an Ellis County, Texas, girl’s Quinceañera Sunday morning, apparently when the hosts ran out of beer, reports KHOU.com. One person, an unidentified adult male, was killed and seven others, including an 11-year-old child, were shot, stabbed and beaten — but just injured. Whew. Police responded to the 200 block of Wickliffe Road shortly after midnight Saturday. Investigators said family members turned on each other using guns, knives and even a brick. At least two handguns were fired in the dispute, which lasted no more than five minutes. A bullet hit the 11-year-old in the stomach. Moments later his brother ran to the Loyas’ house for help. “This boy came over and he said, ‘They shot my brother! They shot my brother!’” Deputies expect the boy to survive. Thank God. Humanity could sure use a lesson in party etiquette, but certainly not at an 11-year-old’s expense.
