Sweet Caroline Banned at Penn State & 18 More Songs That Should Follow Penn State may be changing its tune. Literally. In the wake of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal, the school has reportedly decided to discontinue its long-standing tradition of singing Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.” Particularly the school has taken issue with the lyrics “touching me, touching you.” School officials were concerned that the lyrics would be deemed insensitive to victims. Given that the song was written in the 1960s by Diamond about a then-11-year-old Caroline Kennedy, isn’t this entirely too ironic? Will Penn State also ban asspats of players by their teammates after a job well done? We’ve compiled a list of 18 other popular songs that Penn State might also want to consider banning from its sporting events. • ‘Smokin’ in the Boys Room’ – Motley Crue • ‘The Boy is Mine’ – Brandy & Monica • ‘Everytime We Touch’ – Cascada • ‘Confessions Part II’ – Usher • ’Dirty Little Secret’ – The All-American Rejects • ‘Somebody’s Watching Me’ – Rockwell • ’U Can’t Touch This’ – MC Hammer • ’Boys Don’t Cry’ – The Cure • ’Do You Wanna Touch Me’ – Joan Jett • ’Behind Closed Doors’ – Charlie Rich • ’Baby Boy” – Beyoncé • ’Don’t Stand So Close to Me” – The Police • ’Hot Child In The City” – Nick Gilder • ’Hot For Teacher’ – Van Halen • ’Cradle of Love’ – Billy Idol • ’Touch and Go’ – The Cars • ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ – Tiffany • ’Sweet Child o’Mine’ – Guns N’ Roses SEE MORE: • No, Says Nestlé, Our Mascot in a Pedobear Costume Is Not Pedobear • ‘Betting on Sandusky Ice Cream Social’: Obama’s Poorly Named Event Follow Us [NESN]
