Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak camped out first in line at the Los Gatos, California, location to pick up his new iPhone 4S. When a fellow customer asked him why he’d wait in line instead of using his status as Employee #1, The Woz said, “I want to be a part of this direction of great products.”
Man of the people, that Woz.
The same can’t be said of Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, the Jersey Shore [airquotes] star of the hit MTV [airquotes] reality show. The Sitch has probably grown used to cutting in front of the schlubs and yutzes at all the hottest bars and clubs and hotspots that go untz untz boom boom, but when he tried to do a little no backsies action at an Apple store over the weekend, a store employee gave him the heave-ho. An employee named Laurenn @laurennmcc McCubbin tweeted this on Sunday:
McCubbin later clarified that it happened at the Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas. She also tweeted about how odd her tweet becoming a story is: “Evidently my Apple/Situation tweet made me Internet famous. THAT IS DEEPLY WEIRD.” Yes it is. But so is Jersey Shore becoming a worldwide phenomenon.
