Riding the bus in NYC can be a generally miserable experience, especially when it’s a local. Many ride with headphones firmly planted in their ears to shield themselves from the riff raff, but riders on a city bus on Tuesday got a pleasant surprise when Macklemore and Ryan Lewis climbed aboard.

Ryan Lewis is always just right there, isn’t he?

The little stunt was to promote LL Cool J’s Hashtag Grammy Awards, coming up on January 26 in L.A. The duo was just added to the line-up of performers, so naturally they were immediately pimped out to raise awareness about music’s biggest night of the year.

None of the riders look particularly shocked that two famous performers just started dropping beats on public transportation. And the cinematography is just a little too crisp for a casual drop-by. Nevertheless, the joy we feels watching the old man vigorously clapping his hands outweighs our skepticism.
