Snoop Dogg begot Snoop Lion, which now begets Snoopzilla.
The current Hot Pockets pitchman made the move as part of his next collaboration with Dâm-Funk on a project called “7 Days a Funk.”
As Rolling Stone notes, the name change could be an homage to P-Funkmaster Bootsy Collins, who often went by “Bootzilla.” The new album drops December 10th, but the single is out — listen here:
“We’re the babies of the Mothership,” Snoopzilla said in a statement. “I’ve had funk influences in my music my whole career. Dam-Funk is cold. He’s keeping the funk alive and I knew I had to get down with him.”
