Year of the Troll: 4Chan in 2012

In the vast expanse of the Internet, 4Chan remains a bizarre, insular community of pranksters, trolls and Pedobear aficionados.

In 2012, 4chan continued to outdo itself, astounding the larger web community with not only ingenuity, but also all that free time.

Largely, their trolling is harmless fun.

 

In the case of naming the new flavor of Mountain Dew, it’s downright hilarious.

 

Then you just have to accept that you’ve been bested.

 

Their tomfoolery can become a little cruel, like when they made JB fan girls go #BaldforBeiber

 

Or that time they almost sent Taylor Swift to perform at a school for the deaf.

 

Some instances can be serious, like the gun threat that closed down a Washington high school.

But they do redeem themselves, like when they got these lettuce-stomping Burger King employees fired.

 

Above all, never ask for their help with Photoshop.
