Patton Oswalt and Jason Reitman Reenact the “Don’t Talk” PSA Hear ‘Round the World

Remember that hilarious “don’t talk/don’t text” PSA from the Alamo Drafthouse this summer?

You know, the one where an angry customer phoned Austin’s Alamo Drafthouse Theater to complain about the establishment’s sensible no-texting policy. The movie theater turned her angry, grammar-challenged rant into a much buzzed-about PSA.

It’s been viewed nearly 5 million times, but if it’s not ringing a bell, don’t worry. Just watch it here.

That’s good stuff right there. Anyway, the movie theater chain wrangled comedian Patton Oswalt and director Jason Reitman to create a dramatization of that phone message for yet another hilarious PSA.

The “don’t text/don’t talk” PSA was filmed while the duo were recently visiting the South Lamar Alamo Drafthouse for a special sneak screening of Reitman’s latest movie, Young Adult.

Even big budget Hollywood remakes of PSAs suffer from a letdown. As great as that was, there’s something irresistible about the original. It’s also not nearly as great as Jesse Eisenberg’s PSA.
