Beyoncé is proving herself to be an able ninja. Mysterious and covert, the singer is beginning to make a habit of showing up unannounced and infiltrating a scene.
Back in May Beyoncé showed up in high heels and brought her unbridled enthusiasm to P.S. 161 Pedro Albizu Campos Middle School in Harlem as part of the “Let’s Move! Flash Workout” event to fight childhood obesity. On Thursday she did a stealthy drop-in on the one-year anniversary of a Target in East Harlem, surprising about 150 kids from the local Boys & Girls Club while they were learning choreography to her new single “Countdown” off her new album, 4.
Even though this appearance likely has something to do with the fact that Beyoncé signed an exclusive deal with Target for the deluxe version of 4, it’s still hard to watch this and not marvel at her ability to play dynamic role model to kids everywhere.
