A. Samuels: Baby Boomer Rebecca Black Unleashes Point-and-Laugh Rap Video
Allen Samuels is a 55-year-old casino executive from New Jersey with a passion for hip-hop, or so we’re led to believe. A video production company took advantage of that passion to convince Samuels it would be a good idea for him to shoot a rap video for his song, “Livin De Life.”
It was a good idea for the production company, and for the Internet, to discover Rebecca Black’s grandfather, but it was a terrible idea for Samuels, who possesses neither the folly of youth or the wisdom of age to realize he’s the butt of the joke not the one making it (or so it would seem).
The video first popped up on Reddit and has been quickly making the rounds this morning. It’s hard to tell if this is even remotely legit, or if it’s just a fancy viral video stab to promote Wild Rhino Studios.
If you do a quick Google search for “Allen Samuels,” the only person who pops up is a guy who owns a bunch of auto dealerships down in the Houston, Texas area. When you search for “Allen Samuels casino,” the only records that pop up are ones mentioning this guy starring in this video. There’s no digital trail for the 55-year-old casino executive.
Seems that if there was an “Allen Samuels” casino executive in Atlantic City then surely he would rank relatively high in the Google searches, no? What casino does he work for? This has the faint whiff of being a hilarious hoax in so much as the character of “Allen Samuels” doesn’t really exist.
At least not how he’s being portrayed.
