Ahh, the body swap — the ultimate in clichéd storytelling devices. It’s a premise we’ve seen quite often: The older one wants to feel teenish again, younger one needs to learn a valuable life lesson.
We’ve seen it in Vice Versa, 18 Again!, Freaky Friday, Like Father Like Son, and the insufferable one with Chandler from Friends and Zac Efron’s abs. And now it’s come to The Daily Show.
Justin Bieber spent some time in New York City this week, where he stopped by two Big Apple institutions: He received hearty boos when shown on the JumboTron at Madison Square Garden (were they saying “Boo” or “Booo-ieber?), then opened The Daily Show by displaying his serious chops, welcoming us to the show and introducing guest Admiral Mike Mullen before Jon Stewart came out with a magical skull allowing them to switch back to their original bodies. Quite clever:
