If it’s new to you, check out this amazing letter Brian Keith wrote to another soldier named Dave one year after falling in love with him overseas. The soldier recalls the time the two shared while stationed together in North Africa during World War II. Keith writes about their chance encounter, waking up in his arms and the tears that flowed when they separated. The letter reads so much like the romantic films of the early ’40s that it almost seems unreal.

Letter

Shades of the Cheever Letters!

The pro-gay magazine, ONE, first published the letter in 1961 and the original is supposedly perserved in the Library of Congress. (via Letters of Note)
